Available in January 20, 2025, the instrumental version of At The Corner serves as a musical introduction to the artist’s range, revealing various arrangement styles under the JM Musique label.
Written in the late 1990s during his arrival in Montreal, the lyrics reflect the harsh realities of street life, marginalization, and the fading rave scene in neighborhoods like Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and the Gay Village. The song touches on themes of survival, addiction, and the silence surrounding certain communities.
Musically, the track blends reggae-influenced verses, a piano-driven structure, percussive refrains, and a spoken-word ending, in the spirit of 90s icons like David Bowie and Alanis Morissette. Final guitar tracks (acoustic and electric) were performed by Angelo Labbate.
