Personal Project – #demoTalkMusicArt

An EP of 4 vocal tracks, accompanied by short videos on music monetization in Quebec.

#demoTalkMusicArt is a unique project documenting the release of four songs written between 1998 and 2005, published in 2024 in Le Mensuel. Each song is presented through an article, a visual and a dedicated YouTube preview.

Upcoming DTMA EP tracks:

Each article published in Le Mensuel will serve as the foundation for upcoming video capsules to be released on JM Musique’s YouTube channel. These videos will document the journey of an independent music creator.

Biography

Jeff Maheux is an independent songwriter and music creator from L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec. He studied in Arts and Media Technology (ATM) at the Cégep de Jonquière, majoring in radio, journalism, and audio production.

Since 1997, he has been writing and composing music alongside a career in digital marketing. After moving to Montreal in 1998, he began keeping a personal journal in English, filled with poems and lyrics.

Building on his musical foundation from high school, he taught himself to compose using a classical guitar and keyboard. With guidance from guitarist Angelo Labbate, he honed his skills and recorded over 25 instrumental tracks between 1999 and 2006.

Two creative projects emerged from this period:

  • A catalogue of instrumental tracks, blending ambient and emotional textures – now available via JM Musique.

  • A personal EP project, #demoTalkMusicArt, launched in 2024, featuring 4 unreleased vocal demos presented in a narrative context and supported by video capsules on YouTube.

His musical universe, influenced by Heart, Alanis Morissette, The Pretenders, and Sheryl Crow, is marked by raw emotion, spontaneity, and the desire to tell real human stories through music.

His creative journey reflects the path of a quiet yet dedicated artist, expressing emotion through timeless, authentic compositions.
